Waxing

Wax on, wax off. More effective than shaving, waxing is one of the most popular hair removal treatments, targeting areas such as the legs, underarms and bikini line. Not for the overly sensitive, a waxing session may make you wince – but trust us, that super smooth skin will be worth it.

During your waxing treatment you will be asked to lie down on a treatment bed. Your therapist will use a spatula to apply the wax to your skin, spreading it evenly over the area to be treated. They will then smooth on a paper or cloth waxing strip, before quickly pulling it off again, taking the hair with it.

Therapists use different waxes depending on the requirements of the treatment. Hot wax is great for removing strong, thick hair, while cool wax and sugaring paste tend to better for use on sensitive skin. Some salons use scented wax – giving you the chance to choose between fragrances such as lavender, rose and chocolate.

Threading

Threading is an ancient hair removal technique where antibacterial cotton is used in a special method to remove facial hair and shape beautiful eyebrows. An accredited threading artist twists the cotton and rolls this over the skin, to gently lift the entire hair from the follicle.

Most people don't realize every time they wax they remove layers of skin and some people can be red for days. The redness is caused not only by this skin damage but in some cases a reaction to the chemicals that are in the wax. Threading is therefore a great alternative and helps protect the facial skin whilst still providing hair removal.

An accredited threading artist twists the cotton and rolls this over the skin in a special method, to gently lift the entire hair from the follicle. Threading removes the entire hair from the follicle, leaving smooth skin that can last up to 4-6 weeks. Perfect for eyebrows and other facial hair removal.
